As goes with any 4X strategy game, Humankind has a lot of information that can be confusing. While I’m sure it will become easier to understand over time, one phrase has people quite confused. This is the Coreligioninst State that appears as part of certain buffs without much context. Continue reading our guide below for an idea of what it might be.
What is a Coreligionist State in Humankind
The frustrating part of this phrase/term is that there doesn’t seem to be a definition anywhere in-game. This includes the encyclopedia which has information on many features, but nothing regarding a Coreligionist State. Here’s what I’ve been able to figure out after doing some digging and searching around the Humankind community.
A State Religion in-game refers to the first religion your empire founds upon reaching a certain population. And definitions online for coreligionist explain it as a person of the same religion. This leads me to assume that a Coreligionist State is another empire that follows your religion. You can accomplish this by producing enough faith for your religion to spread throughout their land.
However, it’s worth mentioning that this becomes easier if the source of your faith is closer to where you’re spreading. The Humankind encyclopedia explains that faith loses effectiveness at spreading the farther it gets. This is why you’ll want to make sure you’re producing faith in border cities especially.
What Buildings Have This Buff?
While I’m not sure how many buildings have this buff, the Stonehenge is one example. This cultural wonder provides +10 Food and +5 Stability per Coreligionist State. Therefore, if you can get multiple empires following your religion, you can definitely benefit from this small boost. I’d be curious if this applies to an entire empire or each individual city. I’ve also read that this works for independent people too.
With that said, the Stonehenge also has other benefits too such as +20 Stability, +100 Fame, and more unique effects too. This can be a good Ancient Era cultural wonder if you prioritize building faith. Especially because you can get decent grievances by converting other cities to your religion. And that overall helps with raising war support and conquering territories.
That’s all there is to our guide on what a Coreligionist State may be. If you come across any other buildings or areas in Humankind that mention this phrase, be sure to let us know in the comments below. For more guides on popular questions, take a look below.
