If you’re playing the roguelite Loop hero and wondering how to unlock equipment slots, this guide is for you. When you first start the game, you’ll have four equipment slots available for your Warrior class. This includes a weapon, ring, shield, and armor piece. Continue reading below for how to get unlock the other six slots.
How to Unlock Equipment Slots
Loop Hero has 10 total equipment slots with only 8 seeming available in the game right now. The two currently not available are the gloves and belt which have cracks over their picture. It’s likely this is because they’ll be added at a later time, perhaps with a new class. Regardless, each of the three classes has a different set of equipment slots available by default. You can unlock a bonus one by building the Smelter and Intel Center at your camp.
The Intel Center unlocks the ability to add gold cards to your deck. You can only have one equipped at a time because they make significant changes. The Smelter contains an Arsenal card that provides an additional item slot, but it also reduces item quality by 15%. However, I wouldn’t worry about that 15%, because the gains you get are huge. Details regarding each new class slot are below.
- Warrior – Gains access to a helmet slot unlocking the Retaliation Damage stat. This deals damage to an enemy for each time you’re hit. Other stats can be on a helmet as well.
- Rogue – Gains access to an amulet slot unlocking the Magic Health stat. This works as a shield on top of your health that recovers completely between fights. Other stats can be on an amulet as well.
- Necromancer – Gains access to a shield, similar to the Warrior. However, this can have stats unique to the Necromancer such as increasing skeleton level or max skeletons.
You’ll only get equipment for the slots you have unlocked while playing Loop Hero. The only exception to this rule is getting Warrior equipment for other classes from the Smithy. Until you upgrade the Smithy, you won’t start with items unique to the Rogue or Necromancer. Another slot that isn’t quite equipment-related, is the potion spot. The Herbalist’s Hut building unlocks potions that we have an in-depth guide on how to use here.
