The second Dead Rails event Eggstravaganza celebrates Easter where players can unlock an exclusive class. If you’re wondering how to complete the Eggstravaganza challenge, you’ll benefit from having some success with Dead Rails already. But it’s not too bad if you’ve got the hang of the game and a good class to help you.
Before diving into this guide, it’s important to mention this event is temporary and will run from April 18 at 11:55 p.m. to April 21 at 11:55 p.m. We haven’t confirmed if those times are Eastern Daylight Time, but they seem to be.
How to Complete the Dead Rails Eggstravaganza Challenge
Collecting six Golden Eggs spread throughout a run will complete the challenge, giving you 30 Bonds and 9 Stars. It’s difficult to get these eggs since you’ll need to visit each of the major locations. Such as the Tesla Factory, Fort Constitution, Town of Sterling, and the Castle. Be careful not to accidentally skip one since they can appear at any point in your run.
It doesn’t matter the order you get each Golden Egg in, since these locations can appear in any order. Here’s where each one is at each area:
Tesla Factory Golden Egg Location
This is the easiest one since it’s hidden behind the table where you piece together Nikola Tesla. It’s near the entrance of the factory. And you don’t need to power up Nikola Tesla for this challenge.
Fort Constitution Golden Egg Location
First Egg
Fort Constitution has two Golden Eggs to grab, so make sure you don’t leave after getting one. First, you can find one hidden inside an outhouse hole near the back right corner. It slightly sticks up out of the hole. However, I recommend dealing with all the soldiers first to avoid endangering your run.
Second Egg
The second Golden Egg at Fort Constitution is easier to miss if you don’t know it’s there. This one is hidden behind the Barracks building on the left side, closest to the front. The sign above the door says, “Barracks 1st Platoon, B Company”. Go left of the door and check the back side of the building where the egg is hidden.
Town of Sterling Golden Egg Location
Those of you already familiar with the Jade Tablets in the Town of Sterling mine will know where to look. One of the tablets is down a hallway where a minecart is flipped on its side. Normally, you’d grab the Jade Tablet and leave, but this time there’s a Golden Egg inside the minecart. If you’re new to the mine, it may feel like the enemies don’t stop coming, but they will once you defeat enough.
Castle Golden Egg Location
First Egg
Similar to Fort Constitution, the Castle has two Golden Eggs to search for. Before you start looking, deal with the swarm of werewolves that sometimes feels never-ending. Afterward, you can find the first egg up the stairs to the left. Make your way past the shelf holding a turret and you’ll see the egg hiding behind the shelf.
Second Egg
The second egg is up the stairs on the right side instead. This is where the Vampire Knife rests inside a coffin, but there’s also a Golden Egg in the back right corner now. It’s hard to miss as it stands out against the gray stone wall.
Once you get all six Golden Eggs, a notification will appear saying that you’ve completed the challenge. I don’t know for certain if this unlocks the Eggslinger class or if you have to complete your run and take down the Easter Bunny boss. If so, I recommend storing eggs to summon help at the end.
