Vampire Survivors – How to Unlock New Map

Vampire Survivors is consistently getting updates with new content leaving players often wondering how to unlock the new map. Since this is a common question, I’ve put together this guide on how to unlock every map and stage available. Despite most stage unlocks revolving around reaching a certain level, some are more unique.

This guide will always have the latest map added to Vampire Survivors near the top. But, if you haven’t unlocked a map from a previous update or even one of the unique challenge stages, continue searching further down.

How to Unlock the New Map in Vampire Survivors

How to Unlock Stage 5 Cappella Magna

“Have we gone too far? Could have just camped in the forest with all that chicken, but noooo, we had to go chase some random vampire instead.”

The fifth stage Cappella Magna was added in Patch 0.7.2. This update introduced a new character, two Arcanas, one weapon and evolution, and one power up as well. In order to unlock Cappella Magna you’ll need to defeat the boss Trinacria in Moongolow. This requires meeting certain conditions explained in the Moongolow section further down in this guide.

As usual, if you want to get some extra gold while farming Cappella Magna, you’ll need to unlock the Hyper mode version of this stage. Alongside other neat modifier bonuses explained below. This time you’ll need to defeat Trinacria in the Cappella Magna instead.

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +60% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Stage 4 Gallo Tower

“This tower holds great magical artifacts and historically accurate monsters.”

The fourth stage Gallo Tower was added in Patch 0.4.2. This update also came with the introduction of a new mode type called Hurry. Unlike the normal or Hyper, time ticks twice as fast with Hurry enabled. Regardless, players can unlock Gallo Tower by reaching level 60 in stage 3, Dairy Plant. You’ll also need to unlock this stage to get Arcanas.

Get more gold when farming Gallo Tower by unlocking the Hyper mode version of it. Similar to other Vampire Survivors maps, you’ll need to defeat the elite enemy that spawns at 25 minutes. This is the Giant Enemy Crab which enlarges its’ claw when attacking.

How to Unlock Stage 3 Dairy Plant

“The magic map hidden in here might finally lead us to a vampire, or at least to more roast chicken.”

The third stage Dairy Plant was added in Patch 0.3.0. A major feature added in this update was the Milky Way Map described in our guide on How to Open the Coffin. This permanent item across provides a way to track items on each stage that you can pick up. Unlock the Dairy Plant by reaching level 40 in stage 2, the Inlaid Library.

Find out how you can earn more gold on Dairy Plant by unlocking the Hyper mode version. You’ll need to reach the 25-minute mark and defeat the Sword Guardian. For those of you struggling to reach the late-game in Vampire Survivors, visit our guide for item evolutions and combos.

How to Unlock Stage 2 Inlaid Library

“This quiet, long library is the ideal place where to rest, meditate, and forage for roast chicken. But what’s a stone mask doing here.”

The second stage Inlaid Library is the first one you can unlock which was added in Patch 0.2.5. This led to one of our popular guides on How to Get the Stone Mask. All you need to do to unlock the Inlaid Library in Vampire Survivors is reach level 20 in stage 1, the Mad Forest.

Make sure to unlock the Inlaid Library Hyper mode for some useful bonuses especially if you want to farm this stage. Reach the 25-minute mark and defeat the Nesuferit. Make sure you’re paying attention since they’ll likely make it to your character even with knockback weapons. You may struggle a little if you haven’t gotten many power-ups yet.

How to Unlock Stage 1 Mad Forest

“The Castle is a lie, but there’s still free roast chicken here, so it’s all good.”

The first stage Mad Forest is immediately unlocked since this became available on release. With that said, you can still unlock the Hyper mode to get an extra gold bonus for farming. Fortunately, every stage has a Hyper mode so that can help with speeding things up and grinding out power-ups.

In order to unlock it for the Mad Forest, you’ll need to reach the 25-minute mark and take out the giant Blue Venus enemy. Inlaid Library is usually easier than the Mad Forest since the swarms of bats tend to push enemies into you. So long as those exploding enemies in the library don’t reach you.

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +90% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Challenge Stages in Vampire Survivors

How to Unlock Whiteout Bonus Stage

“Artic mirages and a slow, constant snowstorm make this great glacier a hostile environment. Nonetheless, the myths of a powerful weapon, a mysterious potion, and a cursed woman who hates hot springs, make for strong lures.”

The Whiteout bonus stage was added in Patch 1.7.0 alongside a new evolution, character, and even two relics. Fortunately, unlocking Whiteout isn’t anything too complicated. All you have to do is get 20 Orologions. If you’re like me and had no idea what those were at first, don’t worry. They’re the little item pick-ups that freeze time and look like a small watch.

If you’ve already gathered 20 in your time playing Vampire Survivors, just enter a stage and leave it to unlock Whiteout. This is the same for many stages where the update keeps track of your progress prior to it. Here are the modifiers for each mode change:

• Hyper Mode: +25% Gold Bonus, +65% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Astral Stair Challenge Stage

“A highway used to reach other worlds and dimensions. It’s dangerous to venture through alone, but you probably won’t listen to me anyway, will you?”

The Astral Stair challenge stage is a bit of a chaotic one where random events are constantly happening. Not to mention, there are doors that teleport you to different parts of the stage. And this can be a bit confusing when you’re first learning it. Fortunately, unlocking Astral Stair isn’t confusing even though it may be tough depending on your progress.

All you have to do is reach level 80 on the Inverse Inlaid Library. I’ve said it before, but I recommend enabling the Endless mode if you have it available. Just in case you’re struggling to reach level 80, you’ll at least not have to worry about the reapers. As far as unlocking Hyper mode on Astral Stair goes, it’s available by default.

How to Unlock Bat Country Challenge Stage

“We can’t stop here.”

Players can unlock the Bat Country challenge stage by reaching level 80 in the Inverse Mad Forest. This can be a bit of a struggle if you’re not ready for the +200% Enemy Health that comes with Inverse. That aside, the Hyper mode version of this stage is available by default. So don’t worry about trying to hunt down a tough enemy.

Before taking a look at the different bonuses you’ll get for each mode and modifier below, it’s worth noting one major negative. Bat Country has a -75% XP Bonus by default that’ll only drop a bit even with Hurry enabled.

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +65% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Eudaimonia M. ??? Stage

“A space between spaces. The culmination of something, or simply another beginning? Tag, you’re it.”

I debated including the Eudaimonia M. stage in the last section, but kept it here since it’s labeled as “???”. This secret stage is essentially the final boss for Vampire Survivors, making it quite unique. In order to unlock Eudaimonia M., you’ll need to get every standard Relic: Grim Grimoire, Ars Gouda, Milky Way Map, Magic Banger, Sorceress’ Tears, Glass Vizard, Golden Egg, Mindbender, Yellow Sign, Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, Great Gospel, and Randomazzo.

Completing this stage twice unlocks two relics if you pick the right dialogue answer, Gracia’s Mirror(Too Easy) and Seventh Trumpet(Too Hard). Gracia’s Mirror unlocks Inverse mode which creates a harder version of each stage. While Seventh Trumpet unlocks the Endless mode which prevents Death from spawning at the 30-minute mark.

• Hyper Mode: Doesn’t add modifiers.
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: Doesn’t add modifiers.

How to Unlock Tiny Bridge Challenge

“Two opposing factions abruptly stopped fighting over this little bridge. No doubt the source of this cessation will turn out to be harmless.”

Tiny Bridge is the fourth challenge stage which plays relatively differently since it’s a narrow horizontal bridge. This gives you much less room to run around and forces you to play left to right or vice versa. You can unlock this stage by reaching level 80 while playing the Inverse mode version of Gallo Tower.

If you don’t have Inverse mode available, you need to complete the Eudaimonia Machine stage and get the Gracia’s Mirror relic first. Also, I recommend getting the Seventh Trumpet relic via the same stage so you can use Endless mode. This makes it much easier to reach level 80 on Inverse Gallo Tower if you’re struggling.

Regardless, for those of you that want to grind the Tiny Bridge stage using Hyper mode, you’ll be happy to know it’s available by default. Similar to the Boss Rash challenge stage, you can immediately turn Hyper mode on for bonuses like the ones below:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +65% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Boss Rash Challenge

“The monsters want entertainment, and if we win their game, the loot is ours for the taking. Let us face these recycled assets and do what we do best… survive!”

Boss Rash is the third challenge stage in Vampire Survivors which resembles a boss rush mode. Despite the name saying Rash instead of Rush, you’ll fight waves of enemies and bosses that get tougher as you get further. You can unlock Boss Rash by unlocking Hyper mode for all five normal stages.

If you want to play the Hyper mode version of Boss Rash, fortunately, you don’t have to do anything once the normal version is available. It’s unlocked by default so you can start getting those extra gains listed below:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +65% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Moongolow Bonus Stage

“When the moon is red and bright, the remnants of a town swallowed by the sea come back to the surface, bringing mysteries and riches.”

The Moongolow bonus stage was added in Patch 0.6.1 alongside two new Arcana cards and a few other changes as well. You’ll likely notice a new feature upon entering Moongolow since it introduces the Glass Vizard. This is an NPC you can interact with to purchase permanent stat buffs, items, and even unlock them for other stages.

Similar to unlocking other stages, all you have to do is unlock Hyper mode on four normal stages for Moongolow. If you’ve already accomplished this, you can start a new game and quit immediately. This will unlock the new bonus stage. Here are the different bonuses and boosts for each modifier:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +65% Move Speed, +60% Enemy Health
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Holy Forbidden Stage

“Wait, you can see this too? This isn’t right…”

Unlike other challenge and bonus stages in Vampire Survivors, Holy Forbidden is considered a “Hidden Ground” stage. This is likely due to it being a secret stage that you won’t easily unlock like the many others in this section. Especially since you can unlock four new items used for special evolutions like the Laurel and Clock Lancet.

In order to unlock the Holy Forbidden map, you’ll need to play on the Moongolow bonus stage as a standard character. This seems to work for most characters as long as they’re not a secret one like Leda or Red Death, for example. Then, you’ll need to reach the 14-minute mark where the boss Trinacria will spawn.

If you die before defeating Trinacria, you’ll still unlock the Holy Forbidden stage. However, according to some sites online, you’ll instantly teleport to that stage if you successfully defeat them. You’ll know whether or not Trinacria will spawn if the Moongolow stage starts to turn red. I have a screenshot showing it starting around 7 minutes.

It’s important to mention that the Holy Forbidden stage can only be completed once. All you need to do is follow the hallway from left to right until you get the Yellow Sign at the end. This can be difficult since you’re in a tight corridor and won’t be leveling up. This stage is also limited to only standard characters.

How to Unlock The Bone Zone Challenge

“Come over here and say your unholy vespers.”

The Bone Zone challenge stage was added in Patch 0.5.1 alongside two new Arcana cards for players to unlock. The recurring theme with unlocking challenge stages seems to be unlocking Hyper mode several times. In order to unlock The Bone Zone in Vampire Survivors, you just have to unlock Hyper mode for three normal stages.

The two unique bits about this stage are that there are no item drops, and enemies grow stronger over time. By default, you get an extra +25% move speed and 50% extra gold. But, you can enable Hyper mode and other modifiers for bonuses on top of those like these:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +65% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Green Acres Challenge

“A place where mortals are not allowed. Fate changes every minute.”

The Green Acres is a unique challenge stage where you can encounter enemies from every unlocked stage. All you need to do to unlock it is get the Hyper mode for two “normal stages”. One can assume this is referring to the numbered stages mentioned above such as the Mad Forest and Dairy Plant.

Unlike many normal stages, the Green Acres will already have the Hyper mode available. Just be careful as you start enabling certain modes since this stage starts with a +50% Enemy Health modifier. Here are some of the bonuses and boosts you can get for each modifier:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +65% Move Speed, +100% Enemy Health
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Il Molise Bonus Stage

“There exist places that don’t exist. Come to relax and enjoy life. See you in the country.”

Il Molise is a little easier to unlock than the Green Acres challenge since you only need to unlock Hyper mode on one normal stage. As mentioned above, one can assume a normal stage is any of the numbered stages. This is a bit of an odd map since enemies only appear at the edge and won’t move toward you.

Similar to the Green Acres map, Il Molise will immediately have the Hyper version available. While Green Acres starts with a +50% Enemy Health increase, Il Molise does not. However, there are still plenty of fun bonuses to take advantage of listed below:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +75% Move Speed, +60% Enemy Health
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Legacy of the Moonspell Stage in Vampire Survivors

How to Unlock Mt. Moonspell

“Ancestral home of a fallen clan, now overrun by yokai and oni. In this world where the sun doesn’t shine, the night is victorious.”

The only map/stage in this section for the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC is Mt. Moonspell. Unlike other stages in this Vampire Survivors guide, you can unlock this one by simply buying the DLC. You don’t need to unlock several Hyper modes or reach a certain level on a specific map. Mt. Moonspell is a bit unique compared to other stages since it’s large and filled with interesting areas.

If you want to unlock the Hyper mode version of Mt. Moonspell, you’ll need to defeat the boss that spawns at the 25-minute mark. It shouldn’t be hard to notice this large purple dragon with eight different heads. Here are some of the bonuses for enabling Hyper mode and other modifiers:

• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Tides of Foscari Stages in Vampire Survivors

How to Unlock Lake Foscari

“An enchanted forest stuffed with fae mysteries and mythological entities. The perfect place to have an average adventure with zero complications.”

The Tides of Foscari DLC has two stages that you can unlock, but similar to the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC, you’ll need to buy it. Fortunately, Lake Foscari should be available immediately to check out. And if you want to unlock the Hyper mode version for farming, it’s not too different from other methods.

You’ll need to defeat the Avatar of Gaea which appears at the 25-minute mark. It’s a large celestial-looking Elk where its health increases based on how many enemies you’ve killed. So if you’re trying to unlock the Hyper mode, you may need to take it easy or at least have a strong build. Here are the bonuses for each modifier:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +60% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Abyss Foscari

“Sealed by Luminaire in ancient times to contain the darkness within, these underground ruins are now accessible, but so is the outside world to the evil from the depths.”

Unlike the first DLC stage, you’ll actually need to unlock the Abyss Foscari stage. You can do this by destroying the green crystal in Lake Foscari while playing as Keitha. However, you’ll need to evolve her base weapon to the Millionaire version. This requires the Flash Arrow, Bracer, and Clover at max level.

In order to unlock the Hyper mode version of Abyss Foscari, you’ll have to defeat the boss, Je-Ne-Viv. Similar to the green crystal in Lake Foscari, you’ll need to break a red crystal in this stage. Instead of using Keitha, you’ll have to destroy it using Maruto’s evolved base weapon. And then return on Eleanor to destroy a blue crystal to spawn Je-Ne-Viv.

• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health

How to Unlock Emergency Meeting Stage in Vampire Survivors

How to Unlock Polus Replica

“Summoned to a mysterious science station amongst the stars, survival is far from the certain. Extra-terrestrial evil and inter-dimensional duplicity lurk behind every space rock.”

Unlocking the Emergency Meeting DLC stage, Polus Replica, functions similarly to other DLC you can purchase. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to unlock it without buying the DLC, but once you do, you’ll immediately have access to it. Then you can start messing around with the Among Us themed map and unlock a bunch of crewmates.

If you want to run the Hyper mode version of Polus Replica, you’ll need to take out the boss that appears at the 25-minute mark. The boss named, Suspicious Eyes, is hard to miss if you survive this long so don’t worry about that. Here are the Hyper mode bonuses:

• Hyper Mode: +50% Gold Bonus, +10% Luck Bonus, +60% Move Speed
• Hurry: +25% XP Bonus, x2 Clock Speed
• Inverse: +200% Gold Bonus, +20% Luck Bonus, +200% Enemy Health
