The Vampire Survivors Patch 0.5.0 added a major new mechanic that may have you wondering how to get Arcanas. This new feature can buff your run with unique changes such as double healing or even double critical hit damage. If you’ve only just started playing Vampire Survivors, you’ll need to unlock a few stages before seeing this mechanic.
Fortunately, our guide dives into what you need to know to unlock Arcanas and also every type currently available. If you’re struggling to unlock certain stages be sure to visit our guide on every evolution in Vampire Survivors.
Update 12/17/22:
The developer made a change lowering the level requirements for several Arcanas. Previously, players had to reach level 99 on many characters to get a new Arcana card. However, the level requirement is much lower now for them at level 50 instead. With that said, certain unlocks still have difficult requirements like surviving 31 minutes.

How to Get Arcanas in Vampire Survivors
The process of unlocking Arcanas is relatively simple even though it can be difficult to get more than the first one. Before you can get each of the six included in this patch, you’ll need to first find a certain relic on stage 4. Similar to the Milky Way Map relic mentioned in our guide on opening coffins.
As long as you already have the Milky Way Map, you should be able to find the relic immediately. Once you start stage 4, Gallo Tower, just pause to open up the map. You should see the Randomazzo relic all the way up above you. It’ll look like three cards with one that has a spade on it.
I recommend picking a fast Vampire Survivors character since you just need to touch the relic to get it. Similar to the Milky Way Map, you don’t need to survive once you pick it up off the floor. Here are some of the quicker characters if you have them unlocked:
Character Name | Movement Speed Buff |
Mask of the Red Death | +100% |
Krochi | +30% |
Christine | +30% |
Pugnala | +20% |
Giovanna | +20% |
Lama | +10% |
Character to Avoid | Movement Speed Debuff |
Dommario | -40% |
Shortly after picking up the Randomazzo in Gallo Tower, you’ll see a new window filled with purple. This unlocks the first Arcana card, VI – Sarabande of Healing. As explained in the next section, this Arcana card provides the following: “Healing is doubled. Recovering Hp damages nearby enemies for the same amount.”
You’ll instantly get the benefit of the Sarabande of Healing if you choose to continue your Vampire Survivors run. Otherwise, you can pick this Arcana card at the beginning of a new run or a different one if you’d prefer. However, you’ll need to meet the conditions mentioned in the next section to unlock more cards.
Every Arcana in Vampire Survivors
Developer Poncle introduced the Arcana system with six cards that you can unlock. While more will be added later, there may be at least 22 Arcana cards since there are that many hidden in the Randomazzo. Take a look at the table below for those that are currently available in the full release.
It’s important to mention that you can only have three active during a run. While you can start with one that you pick, you’ll need to get the other two from chests. According to the developer, bosses that spawn at the 11-minute mark and 21-minute mark will likely have an Arcana to pick. Our guide on How to Reach Level 99 helps with unlocking certain cards as well.

Nice post, thank you! I wish I could find some tips or guides on best stages and/or strategies to get them to lvl 99, I just tried Krochi on Dairy Plant and even getting to 30 minutes mark with both revivals, I still could only reach lvl 85.

Hey Jr B. Good, sorry for the delayed response. I threw together a guide here specifically on this for each character. Regardless, definitely make sure you get the Growth power-up for extra XP and the Crown item too. This makes a huge difference in reaching those high levels far above 99.
