Muck is a survival roguelite game where hunger can be an issue if you’re still new. That’s why it’s one of the first tips I gave in my Beginner Guide to Surviving. One of the better foods you can make relatively early on is Apple Pie. Continue reading our guide below to learn how to make it.
How to Make Apple Pie in Muck
The only part that may throw you off on making Apple Pie is that the recipe isn’t clearly shown in-game. Normally, when you use a Crafting Station, the recipes are all visible and you can simply click one. This isn’t quite the case when you’re using the Cauldron to cook hidden recipes. For example, the four mushroom soups added in Update 2 are also hidden.
With that said, Apple Pie doesn’t require too much progress in Muck to make. All you need to do is get 1 Apple, 1 Bowl, and 1 Dough to craft it. Once you have those three items, put them into a Cauldron, add fuel, and you’ll get it. If you’re not sure how to get each item, continue reading further.
Apples are the easiest of the three items to get since you can simply grab them off the floor. I’m not positive whether these spawn near trees specifically or just randomly. Either way, simply run around the area or your base and keep an eye out for these small red Apples. You’ll likely come across more than you need.
Bowls may be even easier to get than Apples since the biggest thing you need is Wood. And you don’t even need much, you only need 1 Wood to craft a Bowl at a Workbench. Simply open up the first Workbench tab, “Basic”, and you should see the recipe there. Click the recipe and drag it to your inventory so long as you have Wood to make it.
The final item that may throw you off is Dough since you’ll need to gather Wheat before the recipe becomes available. You’ll need to explore the area for Wheat similar to grabbing apples. Look for their yellow stalks popping out of the ground. You’ll always find several near each other, usually around five. Make sure you get at least five since you’ll need five for one Dough.
How Much Hunger Do Apple Pies Give
If you’re debating what the best food in Muck is, here’s what to know about Apple Pie. If your hunger bar is completely empty, you’ll fill about 60% of it from eating one. While I can’t confirm the best Muck food, this is definitely up there. You can easily stockpile the resources needed to make it when wandering around.
