The Good, The Bad, and The Decent Walkthrough
This mission starts once you land at the Union Bridge trading outpost for the In Transit mission. The trader offers you this job for 2,500 credits, later increasing it to 3,500. You’ll likely need to do this to afford the Primesense STA for In Transit. Otherwise, this is just a side mission that can be completed whenever. The trader needs you to grab and deliver a package for him.
Exit the trading outpost and use your Cruise Drive to quickly reach an abandoned station nearby. You’ll need to deal with a batch of outlaw ships before getting the trader’s package. The main ship to worry about is the Outlaw Sniper Drone as the Viper won’t stick around. The sniper doesn’t have much health, but it still packs a punch. Once the outlaws are dealt with, search the station for a container until the mission updates. As it’s no longer here, use your Jump Drive to reach Rhodia Orbit where the Viper likely is.
Once you’re in the Rhodia Orbit area, search for the Elite Outlaw Viper ship. Depending on patrols, there may be other outlaw ships nearby. Try not to let them overwhelm you. A quick tip for the Viper is that it doesn’t have a shield, so kinetic damage will wipe out its armor. After the ship is destroyed, pick up the Viridian Paint left behind. Now leave the area and head to the CETO Outer Rim. Here you’ll deliver the package to another Viper ship.
Return to the trading outpost in Union Bridge for your reward to complete the mission, The Good, The Bad, and The Decent. The trader will explain the difference between each outlaw group due to one having manners and the other not. Find more Everspace 2 mission walkthroughs here.

This doesn't explain how to deal with that batch of outlaw ships. They just kill me every time.

Hey Mike, looking back at my recording, here's what I noticed.
I was level three, so that gave me a disadvantage. You can always try hitting up other side quests to get some experience. As mentioned in the guide, I focused the sniper first since they're squishy but can hit hard. If you have any nanobots, these are great for healing once they get past your shield. Don't forget to take advantage of secondary weapons like rockets or mines. Also, I noticed I took advantage of using my devices together. Like boosting toward an enemy and then hitting them with the EMP Generator. It's also useful to recognize which weapons are better against shields/armor. Such as Energy damage for shields. And Kinetic damage for armor. Once you've knocked either out, both damage types are efficient.
